Executive Director – Lavelle Muhammad
Joined The Nativity School of Harrisburg in 2012 with 20 years of previous combined experiences as a Private Academic School Administrator, Teacher, Juvenile Corrections Administrator, and Therapeutic Counselor for Juvenile Delinquents and children at risk. He has a Masters in Educational Leadership.
Alicia brought a wealth of experience to the Nativity when she joined the staff in March of 2016. Prior to her arrival, she worked at National Government Services as an appeals rep. She also served as the Operations Managers of the Female Work Release Center for seven years. "I love the mission of Nativity and the impact we can have on the students and their families."

Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction – Felicia Ellzy
Ms. Ellzy graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2010 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Ethnic Studies. She then continued at Bloomsburg University where she earned her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorrority, Inc. Her personal motto is, "I was born to educate and love."
Math/Lead Teacher – Michelle Stine
Ms. Stine graduated from Lycoming College with a B.A. in Psychology. She was also certified in elementary education and middle school math. While at Lycoming, Ms. Stine was a four year member of the women's basketball team. Ms. Stine spent three years after gradation as a subsititue teacher in the Keystone Central School District before moving into higher education at Immaculata University. She currently serves as the assistant coach for the Central Penn College Women's Basketball team. Ms. Stine has been at Nativity for the past five years and believes strongly in the mission of Nativity and is dedicated to serve the needs of each individual student.
Science Teacher - Vernal Simms
Vernal Simms was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. He graduated with a BA from Springfield College and a Master's Degree from Andover Newton Theological School. Mr Simms has taught school in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Mr Simms came to the Nativity school from the Harrisburg School District where he served as an emotional support teacher, teaching Science and Social Studies 7th and 8th grades. Mr Simms also serves as the pastor of the Mountainview Christian Fellowship church in Dillsburg, Pa. Mr Simms is excited about being at Nativity school because he is able to help shape the minds, and hearts of young men who one day will be leaders in our city, community and the world at large. Mr Simms is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Social Studeies Teacher - TBD
English Teacher - Milagros Richardson
Ms. Richardson graduated from Shippensburg University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Level Education with a concentration in English/ Language Arts. After graduating, she landed a job as a Therapeutic Staff Support working at an elementary school. She also worked as a Reading Tutor at the Sylvan of Chambersburg for three years. From there, she spent two years working as a long term ESL substitute for the Chambersburg School District. This is Ms. Richardson’s first year at Nativity and she is excited to be utilized as a tool to achieve Nativity’s mission of “breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
Dean of Students – Demond “DJ” Bates
Mr. DJ is well known throughout the Harrisburg area as an outstanding coach and youth mentor. Throughout the academic year, he serves as an effective advisor and mentor to help guide our students on their path to success.
Audio Visual Teacher - Darrell Greene
After ten years of working with various music groups in the city of Harrisburg, Darrell decied to open his own professional recording studio and internet radio station in 2004. Darrell has been involved in everthing from recording music projects to voice acting demos to filming commercials and short documentaries. If it can be recorded he will get it done!
Ms. Hirn graduated from Messiah College with a B.S. in Music Education and from National Louis University with an Early Childhood Director's Credential. She comes to The Nativity School of Harrisburg with over fifteen years experience working with children and families.
