Executive Director – Lavelle Muhammad
Joined The Nativity School of Harrisburg in 2012 with 20 years of previous combined experiences as a Private Academic School Administrator, Teacher, Juvenile Corrections Administrator, and Therapeutic Counselor for Juvenile Delinquents and children at risk. He has a Masters in Educational Leadership.
Alicia brought a wealth of experience to the Nativity when she joined the staff in March of 2016. Prior to her arrival, she worked at National Government Services as an appeals rep. She also served as the Operations Managers of the Female Work Release Center for seven years. "I love the mission of Nativity and the impact we can have on the students and their families."

Deborah Lynch - Graduate Support at Trinity High School, Harrisburg
Academy, Harrisburg Christian School and Sci-Tech High School
Deborah Lynch has been working as a graduate support director for Nativity School for the past three years. During that time, she also tutored and mentored student athletes at Penn State University, and tutored writing online. Prior to that, she taught composition, literature, and ESL at Penn State Harrisburg and HACC for more than 10 years. She has an M.S.Ed from Shenandoah University, an M.A.from Penn State, and a B.A. in Journalism from Shippensburg University. She is married to Scott Lynch and has two children, Patrick (28) and Anna (26).

Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction – Felicia Ellzy
Ms. Ellzy graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2010 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Ethnic Studies. She then continued at Bloomsburg University where she earned her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorrority, Inc. Her personal motto is, "I was born to educate and love."
Director of Graduate Support – Michelle Stine
Ms. Stine graduated from Lycoming College with a B.A. in Psychology. She was also certified in elementary education and middle school math. While at Lycoming, Ms. Stine was a four year member of the women's basketball team. Ms. Stine spent three years after gradation as a subsititue teacher in the Keystone Central School District before moving into higher education at Immaculata University. Ms. Stine has been at Nativity for the past eightyears and believes strongly in the mission of Nativity and is dedicated to serve the needs of each individual student.
Science Teacher - Vernal Simms
Vernal Simms was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. He graduated with a BA from Springfield College and a Master's Degree from Andover Newton Theological School. Mr Simms has taught school in MA, NJ and PA. Mr Simms came to the Nativity school from the Harrisburg School District. Mr Simms also serves as the pastor of the Mountainview Christian Fellowship church in Dillsburg, Pa. Mr Simms is excited about being at Nativity school because he is able to help shape the minds, and hearts of young men who one day will be leaders in our city, community and the world at large.
Social Studies - Shatara Parsons
Ms. P graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Sports Management. While at CALU she played on the women’s basketball team, which won a National Championship. After graduating she continued her basketball career in Mexico before she became a Substitute teacher in the Steelton-Highspire School District. Ms. P is currenlty working on her M. A. in Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University. Ms.P is excited to be a part of a school that dedicates their lives in breaking the cycle of poverty, instilling hope, educating and giving a future to our young men in poverty.
English Teacher - Milagros Richardson
Ms. Richardson graduated from Shippensburg University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Level Education with a concentration in English/ Language Arts. After graduating, she landed a job as From there, she spent two years working as a long term ESL substitute for the Chambersburg School District. This is Ms. Richardson’s second year at Nativity and she is excited to be utilized as a tool to achieve Nativity’s mission of “breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
Dean of Students – Demond “DJ” Bates
Mr. DJ is well known throughout the Harrisburg area as an outstanding coach and youth mentor. Throughout the academic year, he serves as an effective advisor and mentor to help guide our students on their path to success.
Sgt. Steven Holmes - Drill Instructor and Religion Teacher
Sgt Steven Holmes has been working at Nativity for the past seveal years. In his time at Nativity, he has served as the military drill sargeant as well as the religion teacher. Sgt. Homes has also played a key role in the summer leadership camps.
Ms. Hirn graduated from Messiah College with a B.S. in Music Education and from National Louis University with an Early Childhood Director's Credential. She comes to The Nativity School of Harrisburg with over fifteen years experience working with children and families.
Barbara Greenlee - Graduate Support at Bishop McDevitt High School
Barbara Greenlee graduated from Bishop McDevitt HIgh School before going on to earn her degree from Penn State Harrisburg. She did her student teaching at Harrisburg High School before moving on to work in State government and then as a bridal consultant. She then became the Director of Religious Education at Cathedral of St. Patrick. Barb has been a volunteer at Nativity since it started in 2001. In her current role at Nativity, she works with Nativity graduates who attend Bishop McDevitt High School.
Darrell Greene - Audio Visual Teacher
Darrell Greene has been involved in Audio & Video technology for over twenty years. Prior to Nativity, he has owned and operated a professional recording studio and internet radio station, taught and instructed residency programs, worked with S.T.E.A.M. summer camps and crafted A/V courses and activities for local community centers to the cruise industry. "If it can be rerded, I can teach how to do it."
Lyn Shiery - Math Tutor and Religion Teacher
Lyn Shiery has been part of the Nativity family for over ten years. He is a former math and computer science teaher from the greater Washington D.C. area. He works daily with students in the math classroom, helping them improve their skills in addtion to serving as a religion teacher at Nativity.
